Moulin Rouge Returns to Washington D.C this Fall

Moulin Rouge will be staging at the Kennedy Center Opera House in Washington DC from Aug 2nd to Sept 24th, 2023 as a part of the 2022-2023 John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Theater Season. It is set in a world where bohemians and aristocrats mingle shoulders, delighting in the extravagance and high kicks of the famed Parisian nightclub once upon a time.

The plot revolves around a love story set in Paris, in which a penniless British writer named Christian falls in love with Satine herself and must atract the Duke in order to finance a real musical theater play on the Moulin Rouge stage. Meanwhile, Satine falls in love with a talented poet, against the plan, and involves him in the production process, however the proprietor of the cabaret, Harold Zidler, persuades her to finish the swindle against the Duke. On the other hand the wealthy Duke is also madly in love with Satine and threatens to murder her.
